Hey, child of an anti vaccine mother here. I just diagnosed with aspergers about a year ago, and my mom basically denies it. She thinks that It's all in my head. but there are some attention issues I had when I was younger, and she blames those on the general booster shot you get when you're first born. I wasn't supposed to get that either, but the doctors didn't know, and she flipped her **** when she found out they did.

TL;DR Anti-Vax parents are sometimes crazy and sometimes blame vaccines for issues. But not always.

They'd find someway of blaming it on something else

They think that autism comes from mercury for some reason

I forget who but there was a doctor who claimed there was a connection between autism and vacines, he blamed it on mercury cause you know poisonous heavy metal.
It was later discovered that this doc faked his data and thus discredited and removed by the medical community (he isn't practicing anymore). Unfortunately people are stupid and those who use evidence quote this doc (again sorry I cant remember the name).

On the plus side with all non-vaxxed kids the scientific community was able to statistically find no correlation between vaccines and autism (the ratio of autism to no autism is the same despite vaccines). You'ld think that this be the end of the conversation but people are stupid and poorly informed.

Just like with the ani-GMO arguments scientifically speaking there is no harm , this can only cause more suffering. In the immortal words of George Carlin: Don't underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups
