This is a bad idea, but...anime suggestions?

Mind, no brutal crap like Attack on Titan or Magica Madoka.
Also, no cutesy/ecchi crap.
And if the description begins with "X is a normal high school student," I want no part of it.

Preferably dubbed, since I'm becoming increasingly nearsighted.

If you're ok with manga, Bitter Virgin is great. It's about a kind of playboyish slacker who accidentally finds out that one of his classmates was raped, and how it changes his perspective on the world as well as their relationship. I doubt it will ever be made into an anime, but it's not one to miss.

Code Geass is good its not "brutal" it has some bloody scenes but its not overly graphic. Also only one scene of nudity and its a glimpse of nipples for like 3 seconds 14 episodes in. Very good anime.

The world around him sees him as a normal high school student, despite the abnormality of his prestigious school, and with the number of Britannian princes around, he isn't exactly that abnormal himself either.
