yup, but they dropped the project since its not very stealthy to have a mini helicopter under your feet (an under every other solider)... plus is not very effective since a mg or maybe even a smg could take one down

Actually that wasn't it. The real reason was because of how difficult it was to control, since it was designed to be controlled by shifting your balance. For example, leaning forward moved it forward, leaning back moved it backwards.

IIRC They're an experiment to create armored Biomechanical drones. Their legs as well as the legs on METAL GEAR RAY, are composed of genetically modified Ungulate tissue inside of an armored shell, along with other biological parts, because they decided organic tissue was the best option as it had the heighest strength for the amount of cost to maintain and repair it; since purely mechanical legs would swiftly damage themselves under all the strain and use.

In short, they Moo because they literally have Beef inside their legs, and Kojima couldn't think of a better way to show that.

the bomb defusing blindfolded was to teach them to work n the worst possible situation, night time bomb diffusal. having to clear bombs in the pitch dark.

i once did it when i was inb the army, but out on an excersize at night, me and 6 or 7 others had to clear this field of all the "mines" (not real), the amount of which we didnt know. we arent bobm disposal and we barely got half of the field done before the hour time limit was reached.

then at the end when everyone failed they showed it was possible by getting an actual bomb disposal guy to do it, alone. he cleared the field in 40 minutes, and located and deactivated all the mines.

the idea of the excersize was to build trust in the skills of our bomb disposal teams and in the equipment used. I have great respect for their job, they really are ******* mad men.
