Wasn't there some asshole at 300 IQ that finished college at 4?

Yeah, his name was Ivo R. Obotnik. He got his doctorates, then became interested in forest creatures.

No disrespect to the kid, but at his age and his level of achievement, there is really no way to tell if he's naturally a super genius or if he's just a regular smart kid with seriously overbearing parents.

There are TONS and TONS of child prodigies that the media picks up, who appear on talk shows, or get blurbs posted on the web. But you rarely (if ever) hear about them again. Most of the time, they just have a big head start. Once they reach a sufficiently high level of difficulty, they plateau and become a perfectly average PhD level.

I actually feel kinda bad for this kid. I just hope he's happy and not being pressured into doing all that by those around him. It just seems to me that he may have lost some of the important parts of childhood.

I get that the whole point is that it's all relative to his age, but unless that means he's going to be building rockets and shooting mankind off to the stars just from the sheer amount of Astrophysics he knows alone by the time he's 25 it doesn't really mean anything. So he knows advanced calculus at age 9. Is he going to surpass it by age 18, or just keep it at the same level?

Mankind's abilities have never been doing the same thing earlier, it's always been doing more overall. Our ability to hunt wasn't better because we did it sooner in our comparative lifespans, it was better because we learned to do it more efficiently, no matter when each member of the population learned how to do it. We don't rush education because we don't have to. We have our entire lives to learn everything and surpass our current understanding of everything somehow. Rushing it just so you can reach the same plateau everyone else eventually does earlier means nothing.

News would be him curing cancer, no matter what age he does it at.

I'm not saying we should steal his DNA and clone an army of geniuses.

...But we should totally steal his DNA and clone an army of geniuses.

This should be a thing, though. Seriously. Soft eugenics, based on scientifically sound principals, instead of racism draped in pseudoscience.

If we rewarded people like this having kids, with like, tax breaks, and punished people of inferior genetics with raised taxes, then the human race would get progressively, objectively, better.

We could increase the average intelligence, eliminate genetic diseases, and generally make the world a much better place.

We should take evolution by the horns, instead of letting hambeasts pop out children every other month, while isolated geniuses die alone and childless.

99,9 percentile means better than 99,9% of the population. There are approximately 7,200 people in baghdad alone, with a similar score or higher.
If they have not been slain by people of the 5 percentile yet, that is.

seriously. 99,9 percentile means one in a thousamd. Not so special if you ask me.

Yes, but he's 7.
That's like wondering why a paraplegic is getting so much attention when all he did was win a running race.

I was apparently really smart when I was a kid, getting into advanced programs and stuff, but now I get B's and C's and half ass everything I do
