As a veteran, I really dont get bothered when people fake military service, if they want to take advantage of people who mindlessly worship vets then **** all of them.
>2 point sling
>M16A2
>non combat colored american flag
>third infantry division
>no CAB badge
>no Air-borne scroll
>Fresh ACU's
>E2
>Battle buddy and everyone in the photo isn't armed
>Box of completely eaten MRE's
Let me see a picture of you with your Unit patch on the right arm
I also said I spend 4 months in Restrepo, in the korengal valley you ******* Cowan.
Those ACU's look a little tight on you. Double dipping at the DEFAC I see
>That was an M4
>First deployment
>Dont wear badges in the field
>3ID is not airborne
>In Kuwait, so yeah, my ACU's were fresh because it was before my first deployment, I just got them from RFI
>In kuwait, so we arent armed
I am re-uping for a 3rd time this November and I have been in Ft. Sill for quite a while now (active). I'm in the 101 inf div and have been ever since I graduated AIT.
You have never been in theater, you were testing a2's in while the range was closed down yet you still have your weapon slung, like a ******* ROTC cadet at summer camp, so that you could have a picture to post to facebook and FJ.
Tell me, how many purple hearts have you accumulated in your career? cus I have one from a prepubecent IED going off 25 meters from the convoy we were leading. We were all shell shocked and returned fire and that is how I got my CAB badge, which we do infact wear into the feild, same as my Airborne pin.
Now, you are talking to a E6, so ******* think before you start spouting off **** , Specialist **** Heel.
HAHAHAHAHA wow, are you really trying to pull rank on funnyjunk? Apparently you are such a hard ass you need to.
I have made E8's damn near piss their pants talking to me, yeah, as an E4, if you were in the army you would know not to mess with the e4 mafia.
I would drag my nut sack across your prone form as you beg me to not rape you.
You **** lord, that's not even the right base, **** , one of the most famous divisions and you cant even get the name right. Not even close. Such a **** lord. You could have checked at their god dammed army.mil site to see what units where there.
Have fun showing it to your autistic friends in the 101st infantry division at fort sill. Last time I was there I'm pretty sure 101st wasn’t there. Their website says 101st isnt there, you are retarded.
13B doesnt even have AIT
What career? Im out. How do you not get that?
Im excited at the prospect that there are people out there are retarded as you, I would feel no guilt about donkeypunching your chocolate starfish.
"I am re-uping for a 3rd time this November and I have been in Ft. Sill for quite a while now (active). I'm in the 101 inf div and have been ever since I graduated AIT."
You cant even say what the 101st is, and that is OSUT, not AIT, this really should have all been explained to you, but you werent in the army
Lots of **** is a crime, I dont really mind most crimes, I just think it's pathetic to pretend to be something you are not, more so when you could easily become that thing.
It’s not like it’s hard to join the military, I mean, a huge percent of Americans don’t qualify, but you can get almost anything waivered if you really wanted to.
If you aren’t a veteran, you wouldn’t be able to get benefits... but if you do manage, let me know how you did it, because I would like to know how to get some better benefits than the VA gives out
Try being in a convoy and getting hit with an IED or directed charge, or mortars
Tell me again how awesome fireworks are and how they in no way shape or form make you twitchy
Gotta agree with the mindless worship of military service, the whole reason behind the Stolen Valor law--the gain of tangible goods and all, which this guy is going after so he is technically breaking the law. Anyway, I always hate when people thank me for my service (why I never wear my uniform other than on base) since it just seems like another empty ritual civilians go through to 'honor' the military. It makes me feel dirty when I am just doing my job and there are many who have actually sacrificed and died for their brothers in arms (and since I was never outside the wire in Iraq or Afghanistan I certainly can't lay claim to any particular valor).
On the other side there is the recent story of a prior reservist Marine getting harassed for 'faking it' when he actually did serve (a coward calling the Marine out and a couple of aggro cops looking for a fight). There are some folks out there who take waaaaaay too much pleasure from 'outing frauds', absent any facts. If you are that bored then develop a constructive hobby that either makes you a better person or helps others.
But damn, the out of work hippster could have at least did a modicum of research to figure out how to wear the thing. At least put on your cover and have your patches/tapes if you are going to fake it!
I have to resist the urge to tell people **** like "don’t thank me, thank your recruiter" because civilians dont have recruiters and it would sound retarded. I'm just upset when people thank me while not knowing what we did.
I think I might feel more gratified if the fear was manifested as aggression instead of placation.
Actually, I would feel better if they manifested it as a desire not to get us embroiled in yet another war. I already have my Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan (x2) campaign ribbons and don't feel the particular need to add any more.
But ISIS will start killing women, Americans, or some other appalling event and the public will start howling for blood again (egged on by the appropriate propaganda, of course).
Well, I would also feel better if lawmakers, with the tacit support of the public, did not feel the need to balance the bloated budget by cutting military benefits. We sure as **** are not getting rich off it and I have seen more than my share of those who have lost life and limb to it. Maybe buy a few less F35s or one Navy carrier? Maybe start making welfare programs require some form of part-time work or volunteer hours to qualify for benefits? Hell, if I can go to war zones and put my life in (mild) jeopardy then surely getting free money/services should require a little sacrifice.
I don’t think we have to worry about anything being done about isis till 2016 at the earliest. They have already tried to carry out attacks in the US they did it in Texas and their gun men were the only ones to die . If we didn’t do anything after they raped our ambassador to death, or after they started throwing children off buildings or burning them alive, then we aren’t going to do anything till we have a different C&C
As much a pilots bitch about the older aircraft having a chance to pump exhaust into their air supply, I think there could be an easier fix than a milti-billion dollar aircraft. The real ******** comes with the contracts, the military has the ability to do its own logistics and support, but instead it gets contracted to assholes like KBR or General Dynamics, sure those guys can do a little better because they have the experience, but it also costs millions per day.
**** man, how do you do it? I had to get out when they stopped taking the GWOT seriously
To my shame, I wear fake dog-tags and camo pants. Nothing else though. I try to make them as fake looking as possible, pic related. One is blank, one is black with my youtube/general username on it, and one commander Shepard's is from Mass Effect.
Yeah, it's really common, I just feel bad that they dont know enough to look up AR 670-1, it tells you how to actually wear the uniform correctly and it's free
Both.
You're not allowed to wear Cammies except in transit to and from your work station. In all technicality you're not supposed to stop anywhere even, but hitting a drivethrough or self-serve gas pump isn't /illegal/ but frowned upon
That’s thje same way in the army, you are only supposed to wear the duty uniform, and only to and from duty. If you want to wear a uniform when you are off post and off duty the only authorized one your dress uniform. Most units are pretty slack about it, because most soldiers want to get out of uniform as fast as they can anyways. Usually the ate up ones you see wandering around are national guard or senior NCO’s who don’t have other cloths
>guard
>reservists
gross
Yea, it's a culture thing, I think. I mean, even in the "service" uniform Tan/greens If you're not wearing a cover outside, or you're ****** up, you're likely to pull heat from other Marines that are out or off duty. We take that **** seriously. Well, the ************* .
I once had another specialist bite me because he saw somebody else wearing the wrong head gear off post. It was always a fun time correcting somebody that out ranked you when they were wrong off post
It's hard letting go, when I was in school the national guard guys would show up to class late in uniform looking like a bag of smashed assholes, and me and a couple other vets would heckle them from the back. It was a good time.
pretty much
lol I'm a rebel in a gov't organisation! I don't stand for anything, but try desperately to make my nonconformance (due to laziness) sound cool and edgy!
