'Kids' is the name of the song and MGMT is the band name, you got them mixed up. You also missed Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground. Other than that, good job.
I have seen this so many times I know by heart the progression of songs and their little jokes.
In some of the clips they change it around (adding new songs / varying their jokes).
They have a ton of fairly similar versions of this live (they add or remove a song occasionally, but the jokes are mostly the same).
The official one on their channel is the most different though.
Would it help any if I rephrased the statement?
What a coincidence... my music teacher just showed us this in class...
Idk, maybe I'm an idiot but if all that hate is for a possible grammatical error it just reinforces why I never comment anymore.
I scrolled down simply to see if someone had posted it yet, well done. I remember my guitar teacher showing us that in highschool and we all lost our **** .
It's sad on both ends. Pop music is and always will be **** . It's name is literally BASED around what their goal is.
Make it popular sounding on purpose.
Just because it is a 4 chord song doesn't make it mindless or sad. Making music is about the appeal of the song, and the fact that there is a good recipe that a lot of musicians use should not be a factor in their credibility.
Pretty ******* sad that bakers make their cakes this ******* simple and mindless. It's all basically just flour milk eggs sugar. Four ingredients put together and heightened by some side things like spices, or extracts, to make it a bit different than another cake. Clearly no talent or skill, and the cake must taste terrible because, I mean, it's similar to other cakes. How could that ever make something good?
Nice comparison.
except that music leaves a lasting impression on your psyche, where as a cake is just designed to fill your stomach while giving you pleasure.
While it's fine to enjoy pop music and I don't see much wrong with it. I do think that it's quite lazy to not try and make something more complex and thought provoking.
Sure, great music is. But maybe, just maybe, we don't have to put music on a pedestal like that. Of course, music has the ability to make you feel something or leave a lasting impression, maybe sometimes you just enjoy it because it is enjoyable. The human mind naturally likes repetition and harmonization so it feels good and gets stuck in your head and when you hum it to yourself you can get a little rush of endorphin just from that. So maybe not all music has to be a revolutionary masterpiece. Maybe I can just like Africa by Toto cause I like Africa by Toto, even if it used the same four cords as a dozen other songs.
But **** , I don't know. I'm just some asshole on the interwebs. Maybe I'm not qualified to give a **** one way or the other.
