Overwhelming social stimuli.

I like to stay in my house too, but not at the same cringe levels as the OP at the office party.

I like to go out too, but sometimes I just need to get away for a little bit because having so many people in a crowded place can just be overstimulating.

I was at a New Years party 2 years ago, and we had about 30-35 people crammed into this person's house for 'white-elephant' and other games and such. I had to step outside for about 5 minutes after the first hour just to enjoy the chilling silence of the wintry outside. Everybody in there was just a little too much to hear, see, and interact with all at one time. I ended up leaving after about 3 hours.

Also, there just comes a point where a party dulls down and it's just people separating into small groups for talks and conversation, and party games are too far in between. The small group conversations are uninteresting or boring and involve people that I don't know, and don't really care to know either. It's like being bored in school; the time just drags along, nothing to really do. So I start to get "withdrawals" for my home activities/hobbies or seeing my interesting friends and doing stuff with them.

The funny thing is, you don't have to be addicted to 'miss' something that made life more convenient. Those conveniences come at a cost, and everyone thinks they can do it in moderation. I drink coffee regularly even knowing this, and I wind up suffering from fatigue and mortal anxiety every night. I could quit, but not without feeling like crap without it for weeks. I dropped the redbull for 6 months so that's a start...

Now back to the subject of women, if you rely on another person's approval to justify your personal worth, then your worth is at the mercy of that person and it can leave you open to manipulation, or exaggerated responses to misunderstandings between you and her.

You need to acknowledge who you are, and what you place is in your life. Set outlandish goals for yourself, you don't have to be realistic. If you wanna spent 7 years in college to genetically engineer a baby pegasus and call it Dashie, then do it.

Don't worry about your purpose in life.
You will die, and everyone will die with you, nothing goes on without you because you won't be around to see it. The world began with you, and it will end with you.
With that being said, as the God of your own life who giveth and taketh away, why not
make your own life purpose?
Give yourself a path to walk on, any path.
Aspire for your own desires and childish dreams.

This is your life,
so take charge of yourself before demanding others to be in charge of you.

Keep in mind tho that women are basically taught by society that all they have to do is wait, they are also conditioned by getting a bunch of attention from guys if they are even halfway pretty or put an effort of any sort. So you either hunt for a female or never get one. That being said a lot of guys do in fact need to realize that women ain't really **** but tricks and hoes, or more agreeably, really aren't all they are cracked up to be. I no longer give two ***** about gf or no gf. Nobody else should either.

The air of "not giving a **** " is an alpha trait. Women don't want prissy sissies who are emotional or sensitive, they want alpha tough guys who underneath that cold hard cool exterior, has feelings inside. Women want long stable partners in many cases, to provide for children; nice guys are good opportunities for that. Second to that is money. Looks matter less. I know plenty of mates that pull extremely good looking women but they're not the best looking themselves.

imo a day of wait is fine, I find that if I wait for 2+ days, I slowly enter a stronger and stronger rut, sometimes with dangerous results to myself, trying to find a balance of sorts, everyone is different I suppose.

I like what you say here. Until recently, i've been chasing a girl without really knowing if it would ever turn out and i'd almost get depressed when it wasn't working out.
I realized a bit ago that what i should search for is being content with oneself and everything else will sort itself out. Quoting a great book i read called "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead", "what is the point of living if you're not even happy?" I feel that this quote in itself makes for a great basis to living.
Why live?
To be happy.
'What if i can't be happy?'
pretend to be and it'll solve itself. Just keep doing what you can and you'll arrive at the end one way or another, and if it didn't go as planned, well that's what adventures are about.
Like you, i'm just saying this to confirm to and remind myself of this path i aim to keep.
Besides. what is life without a little adventure

Well I like what you're saying, but I'm going to counterpoint once or twice for the sake of thought.

I don't really like the idea of setting up goals that you don't ever intend to meet. You'll either be constantly be aware they're impossible and it's purpose won't actually motivate you or make you work toward it, or you'll fail because it's impossible and depress yourself. I think we should make goals for ourselves that we can succeed, and be satisfied with them. People get too depressed when they don't become astronauts, but I felt pretty damn good when I was able to start running 2 straight miles. I'm no Olympic athlete, but that felt good for me. Point being, if the World's a stage, and the World is putting on a play, none of us are the main character, there isn't a main character. So we shouldn't beat ourselves up so much when we don't live up to one. Be happy with small goals, make bigger goals if you think you can handle it. Don't be sad when you can't handle the biggest goals.

I don't know why, but to us men, the thought of "family" has been the most motivating thing in human history. People would rather nuke cities then lose their true love (think of someone that loves them deeply as well, not just an infatuation), people would rather the world be destroyed, then the alternative ruin their chances of a happy life. Love and family has been the most motivating thing in human history that has kept people waking up in the morning. Almost everything we do has the long term goal of guaranteeing our access to a woman. Hell I'm trying to join the marines, and I say I have a lot of ideological reasons like service, wanting to contribute to the world changing, etc., and those aren't lies, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to looking more like a physically fit badass to women. Or it transforming me into being more confident and desirable to women. Not a lot of men can admit they care about changing the world, or becoming successful, or getting rich. Because it all feels kind of meaningless without that one girl, that makes existence itself worth it. Not everyone can live for themselves, they don't care about themselves. They really just want to live for that one person, that makes existence worth it. Our goal of family, feels like it's the only thing left, when this bastard of a world has taken everything else away from us.

Now on what you said on "relying on another person's approval to justify your personal worth".

You're saying "Reach for that thing you can actually reach so you can be happy".
