I dated a girl that was 15 once, she looked and said she was 19.
I found out one night when she was over we were just chillin, playing some monster hunter when it sounds like world war three is breaking out against my front door.
its like 9pm at the time so I was totally startled anyone would knock with such vigor at that hour.
I go downstairs, girl is clinging to my arm i open the door to a lady in her late 40's i think.
She looks at me, looks at the girl and she goes "DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD SHE IS?!"
NATURALLY IM LIKE "19, DUH."
Old ladies mood instantly changes, she looks at the girl with so much rage i have no and still in all caps she continues "DO YOU REALIZE WHAT WOULD HAPPENED IF I WERE THE COPS?! THIS YOUNG MAN WOULD GO TO JAIL FOR YEARS!!"
Now im like whoa wait jail, wheres this coming from?! now im freaking out a little, am i pedo, is this just some crazy chick high on meth?
my confusion is instantly ended when the girl gets into an argument with the old lady calling her mom.
i stand for a solid 5 minutes while this mom yells at her daughter for dating an older guy and her daughter counter arguing with its my body i can do what i want ect...
now i cant call the cops to get the crazy family to leave cause ive boned the chick like 20 times, were talking serious jail time if i get caught.
so i have to invite mom in, so the neighbors dont call the cops and I proceed to spend 3 hours playing family shrink while this 15 yo and her mom argue about taking dudes dicks like im not even there.
so very long story short, turns out this girl is a manic depressive that is un-diagnosed, the mom is an over-controlling monster of a human that thinks raising a child is all about her not the kid. and the dad is a functioning alcoholic barely able to afford his daughters party life and his wifes addiction to prescription meds.
talk about a *********** of a family. after that debacle i tried to be a decent person and kinda take on a big brother kind of role for this kid that desperately needed adult guidance, but it was too late, a week to the day after the argument i find out the girl was at a party some guy drugged her to date rape her and then was so drunk himself he didnt notice her puke while passed out so he literally ****** her dying body as she aspirated on vomit from some jackoff drugging her.
god i ******* hate the town i grew up in.

I graduated, like ... 4 months before I turned 20. That said, I practically had my associate's by that point. (started HS late and college early. I wouldn't have graduated with a diploma if not for college classes counting for 150% of a HS course of the same time-length.) But I remember **** like that at the Episcopalian private school I attended.
I remember being there for a Shakespeare play. [Shakespeare/english lit] was a big part of the culture of the school. To beclear honest, this is a school where 30%~50% of the students are children of engineers. after the play that I had helped out with (stage hand, essentially), I was people-watching and noticed this pretty little thing. I had just turned 20, but was closely related enough that there was nothing weird about me being there (another note: School population was 120 or so.).
The girl in question looked at behaved like she was 19-21. IF you pay attention, you can see how 14yo act, how 16yo act, how 18yo act, how 21yo act, how 25yo act. As a person gets older their benchmark years get farther apart. It's hard to tell if some one is 21 or 23, depending on how much they like drinking in public, but easy to tell that they are 21-25. So this girl was calm (older), yet sharp in her responses (younger), so I thought I was definitely clear. Thought she was 21, probably, but might be as young as 19. She kept talking with my friend's little sis who was seemed 14. The play ends and my friend (on of the actors) comes out, shakes hands with everyone and heads up to my perch to talk. I mention the chick and he just smiles.

That's because American society is knee-jerk reactionary. People en masse, and thus individuals, don't stop and think... like ever. Just because something isn't legal doesn't mean it's ethically bad or anything of the sort. You can go to jail for banging a seventeen year old who's a week from being eighteen. They're not going to be ANY more able to make their own decisions in those seven days than they already were.
